Okay, so I think I'll start a thread for the unnamed Zelda title that is acclaimed to appear for the Wii U in 2014 for those people who are possibly interested in the game. As most of here know, the Zelda franchise is not only huge to Nintendo as one of their first-class games, but it's also a major iconic symbol to many gamers alike.

I will be adding concrete details more and more as I run across them, so I suggest that people stay tuned if you're interested in finding out more about this game. I'll be adding a few interesting details from this point out. ~

DEVELOPMENT:
Development of Zelda Wii U is in the very early conceptual phase. As far as we know, no story or art style have been decided yet, and they're still experimenting with what kind of gameplay experience the Wii U can offer. Outside of inner tech demos shown to other companies, we basically know nothing of the new Zelda except rumours, so why not share a few? =3

  • Wii U Zelda has the biggest development team ever. They got hundreds of people working on the new Wii U Zelda game. It's a 4-year development cycle with a new console, new technology, new engine etc. It'll end up being the most expensive game they've made to date.
  • About the same amount of dungeons as previous Zelda games, but these will be vastly bigger in scope and will be totally different from each other. Some dungeons are so big they're broken up in 3 parts and will literally take hours to complete. The Wii U Zelda game will also have mini-games and side quests, but these are still on the drawing board. Finally, the game's composers are creating a brand new orchestral soundtrack with "hours of music".
  • No online multiplayer, but will have online features. Online multiplayer was never on the drawing board, they're sticking with the tried and tested Zelda formula. It'll have some online features like Miiverse and some sort of system where players can leave hints and help each other in the dungeons.

This sounds great. I'll be sure to tell my friends who are big on Zelda about this, lol.

Perhaps this could be my first Zelda game, since I never got into OoT, MM, or SS (although I did buy SS but I lacked the controller accessories, as I soon discovered...).

Not sure if I like the dungeons being so long that there broken up into three parts. I just hope they can keep them fun and challenging.

I really hope this game is based on real looking graphics and not the wind waker toon look.

I'm glad for no online multiplayer, if there was that means they would have to take time away from the main game to make something that would turn out to be crappy.

In large part, I agree with DS. I certainly like the dungeon length.

The game should have high quality graphics instead of cell shading, yeah. The style has its place, but this doesn't sound like that place.

I wish they kept the N64 Zelda look, that was the best look for the game series IMO.

Yes, Zelda was good-looking on N64.

Okay, so I decided to poke around for more information from other sites. Keep in mind that theses are honestly, uncomfirmed Rumours. These rumours come from wiiudaily.com, zeldauniverse.net, as well as wikipedia sites. They're not reliable information sources but it's interesting to see and hear what's possibly happening with the game.

(I wanted to state that in case; because I won't be plagiarizing or anything x)

MORE INFO:

The game is possibly a sequel to Twilight Princess in it's story line, respectively.

Zelda Wii U has been displayed as a way to show off the technology of the Wii U and is a major backbone for thirdparty developers, as it shows both the Wii U's power and innovation.

This is a day one buy for me. I am looking forward to see what new design they use for the game. Also, I predict they will show the first trailer for this brand new game at E3 2014.

I hope it is as grand as the rumors state, but I find this highly doubtful. Maybe in January Direct they will show a trailer? That was when the bomb was released with X, SMT X FE, and more.

This is about an upcoming game that's been constantly hinted at, but not revealed yet through official trailers and such. It seems they're considering rethinking the Zelda conventions for this.

For example...
In terms of dungeons there will be “about the same amount of dungeons as previous Zelda games, but these will be vastly bigger in scope and will be totally different from each other. Some dungeons are so big they’re broken up in 3 parts and will literally take hours to complete”

“The first test dungeon they made was a giant forest running on early and buggy Wii U hardware — the dungeon was bigger than the Hyrule field in Ocarina, and the whole thing is one dungeon. You use the gamepad to navigate, avoid traps, follow clues etc. It’s dark, lush, with a ton of trees, foliage, some which you have to cut your way through. Its scope and details are unlike anything you’ve seen in a Zelda game."

Does this excite you about the game? Any other news/speculation you've heard of? Do you think you'll buy it when it's released?

Only that A dungeon is bigger then the hyrule field in ocarina of time make want me to buy it. That mean he is probably harder then the other game, dungeon full of traps you have to disarm!!!!! I cant wait for it!

One of the things I liked about Skyward Sword is that it seemed to blur the line between overworld and dungeon. I thought it was a big improvement to Twilight Princess whose vast tracks of land seemed sparse and dungeons seemed overly long.

I think balance is important, but change is welcome. Heck, I'm replaying Wind Waker on the Wii U and how many dungeons does it have? There's a ton of overworld exploration, but I love it still the same (maybe more)

Yeah, I'm completely with you on that (heck, even with the Wind Waker HD part). I think what they may be able to do is continue to blur the distinction between the two with the dungeons being really long. Heck, the whole game may even be a huge dungeon with small "fillers" for all we know

I am totally getting it when it finally comes out but I hope it comes out soon because I can not wait for this game, also isn't the title going to be Zelda: Hyrule Warriors or something? The name is not final though.

No, Zelda: Hyrule Warriors is a side-game that's unrelated to the game we're talking about here. The game we're talking about hasn't been shown in a trailer or anything yet and we're expecting substantial news at E3 2014.

Speaking of Hyrule warriors, do you think there will be any additional playable characters?

To me, it's a given that the next Zelda game is going to be bigger and more adventurous. I'm most concerned about the art style, and what that will be. Wii U is finally an HD console from Nintendo and I don't want it to be wasted on toon link style art, twilight princess graphics were my faveortie.

Hoping for some realism with Zelda Wii U

Ugh, please no. Twilight Princess is basically my least favorite Zelda game just because of the art style. It just doesn't fit the series, but that's just my opinion.

I'm personally hoping it looks like Skyward Sword, but in HD. That'd be nice.

Twilight Princess isn't one of my favorite Zelda's either, but not because of the art style. I was just so disappointed that the overworld seemed so empty. Replaying Wind Waker has reminded me how much I enjoy finding secrets in each square of the map!

Skyward Sword had a great visual style! Not sure how it would look in HD - it was designed that way to work with the distance limitations of Standard def. I'd love to see a 3DS Zelda that looked similar to it!

How fun would it be to see some crazy Zelda where Link time travels into different graphical versions of Hyrule? He could start in the 8 bit NES world, warp to 16 bit, move on the N64 style, etc ... It'll never happen, but it's fun to think about.
