How long did it take you to get S or S+ rank in Splatoon?

I got the game a couple of weeks after its release and to this date I have not reached S or S+ rank. I've always been super close but a bunch of communication errors or teams that fail to work together sticks to me like glue.

So how long did it take you guys to reach the S or S+ rank in Splatoon?

I'm in S it took me about 5-6 months
I was in B+ then I let my cousin borrow it for a month
Then I suddenly got to A then I struggled for a while to reach S

I played for hrs it only took me a week to get to S rank and another week to S+
