Transferring Wii U / 3DS eShop balance to Switch is possible

It's as simple as linking your Nintendo Network ID to your Nintendo Account.

I'm not 100% certain if it's actually being "transferred". I'm hoping the balance is shared similar to how Nintendo did things with the Wii U and 3DS.

Cool. I was wondering about this aspect of the Nintendo Account. I have a 3DS that is linked to my NNID I may want to share a balance with the Switch and visa versa. I personally hope it's shared rather than transferred.

I found the answer to what I was wondering about on the Nintendo website...

• People who already have funds in their accounts on other Nintendo devices can access them using a shared wallet that works on Nintendo Switch as well. Once they link their Nintendo Network ID and Nintendo Account and then their Nintendo Account to their Nintendo Switch system, this functionality becomes possible.
