I do not know where it had come from, but I suddenly grew a love for Mega Man about two weeks ago. I guess it was just memories of my Dad playing it on the Wii for virtual console as a younger me, or maybe I was happy with myself for beating Cutman on a Raspberry Pi.
The want to play it again grew large, and I suddenly found myself typing 'Mega Man Online' in Google. Lo and behold, I found it on a website called 'playretrogames.com', where it had not just Mega Man, but other games as well, such as Mike Tyson's Punch out, or such.
Anyway, I began playing. I first started Cutman, and defeated him with mild difficulty. I guess the years of beating him and his level paid off! I then proceeded to Gutman, and, with much difficulty, I eventually defeated him. Then, I was lost. I didn't know which boss to go after next.
I looked up a walkthrough, and found out something astounding: every boss in the game has their weakness! It went like this:
Bombman>Gutsman>Cutsman>Elecman>Iceman>Fireman>Bombman
I couldn't believe it! I just though we could start anywhere and it'd probably be the same, but no!
So, I went after the rest of the bosses. I defeated Bombman, than beat Elecman (his stage was a little fun, especially after getting the magnet beam), than Iceman (this one gave me a run for my money, but magnet beam once again save me), and Fireman.
I went to Dr. Wily's stage thinking I knew what was coming, but I was so wrong. First was the Cyclops. I had heard of this guy. Quite infamous. Luckily, I learned that if you use Elecbeam, and press SELECT repeatedly when it hits, it will do a lot of damage. Cyclops went down.
Then, I proceeded to the next stage, and fought my way to...a Mega Man clone? This was a difficult boss, but once again I used the Elecbeam and he went down, but with more difficulty than Cyclops.
The bubble bots came next. At first I thought "What the heck?", and after dying a lot of times, thought "Why's this a thing?!". Soon I found out that I had to kill the first three, then use the Gutsarm to one-shot the remaining bots.
Finally, I reached the final boss. He went down easily, though. Probably easier than Iceman with Elecbeam and SELECT. I first equipped Elecbeam, shot it, then used the SELECT trick. I watched his health dwindle with every pause/unpause. On stage two, I equipped the Cutblade and used the same tactic. The game was over. I had won.
I was so happy! I beat the game my Dad couldn't beat! After beating it, though, I eventually decided to beat them all.
